Scout Sunday

Posted by rstephanie on Feb 5 2020 - 9:58am

This past Sunday 02/02 Scouts celebrated with our Sponsor Nichols Bethel Methodist Church Scout Sunday. This is an event where Scouts of all ages come to the church that sponsors our Pack to reflect and be reverant. Scouts participted by welcoming parishoners and helped to hand out the daily prayer leaflets, at the start of the service they brought the Pack and Troop Flags up to the front to be displayed. We then presented the Church with our Charter for the year, It was a beautiful reflective time that really helped not only the Scouts, but the parishoners come together in thanks for the contribution of both to the other.

This past weekend (02/01) we had our annual Pinewood Derby. Scouts had voted on and decided on 3 themes to build on. Patriotic, Desserts, and Video Games. We had so many different takes on the theme. Siblings and Parents got into the races as well in their own categories. Scouts proudly raced their cars, shouting and cheering the whole time. Finally winners were determined in 3 categories. Grand Champion (fastest in the Pack), Scouts choice for theme/design and Parents Choice for theme/design.

December Pack Meeing

Posted by rstephanie on Dec 26 2019 - 6:08am

We had a great pack meeting this month. We participated in a cookie exchange. There were cookies as far as the eyes could see. We sang and played on kazoos a Scout themed Christmas song, and had lots of fun while at it. We voted on the theme of our Pinewood Derby and are proud to announce the Scouts were so enthusiastic about each one we decided to have 3 options. So this year be on the lookout for cars in Patriotic / Desserts or Video Game theme. We can't wait to see everyones creativity. Looking forward to a gert 2020!

Scouting For Food - Service Project

Posted by jstokes on Mar 5 2019 - 9:44am

Each year our Pack participates in Scouting for Food.  We will need several Scouts to help distribute bags and door hangers to houses in Piney Orchard Saturday, March 16th 9am to 10:15am.  Food pick up will be the following Saturday, March 23d.  We'll meet at Waugh Chapel Swim Club parking lot at 8:45am and assign areas.  We have the area from Killarney to Streamview along Strawberry Lake Way.  We typically distribute bags to the town homes within this area. See attached maps.
Food collected during Scouting for Food will be delivered to the Christian Assistance Program Food Pantry.  When we pick up on the 23d, we'll need some parents to help deliver the food to the destination.
Hope you can help with this great Community Service event!  See http://www.baltimorebsa.org/events/scouting-for-food/53468 for more information (previous year's info / pics, etc ...)
